If I were to measure from the moment I started picking out the beats up until the actual release, I would have to say that this project is almost a year old (maybe a month or so shy). I just looked it up and the actual "Traveling Man" album came out this very same date last year (January 26th, 2010); maybe it was all in the making for its completion to take as long as it has. There were supposed to be at least 12 tracks when it was all said and done, but after dwelling on this, and several other projects, and allowing things to linger on for so long, I decided to only use the ones that I felt were the best and weren't just there for the sake of quantity. Actually, what took so long was getting everything to sound exactly as I wanted it (especially Details, I have about 3-5 different versions).
As with anything that I produce, this project is personal in the sense that all of it has a purpose, all of it tells a particular story, and all of it reveals some truth. It's taken some time but I'm glad it's finally done, regardless of the number of tracks. In fact, 5 of the 8 songs on here I consider to be some of the best that I've managed to formulate; then again, I think the vibes of the production definitely shaped how certain thoughts were put into words and executed.
Well, I think that's enough introductory banter, all that's left is for you to listen to it yourself. And at the end of the day, even if no one likes it, I hope that it can still be appreciated at the very least.
Shouts to my IM brothers for the guest verses and Valencia for the amazing vocals that helped me realize my vision for that song. Peace!!!
